Product Manager - Chemicals - London -25K

My Client is one of the largest chemicals manufacturers and distributors; with offices and sites around the world including the UK. Due to ongoing success, and a growing client base, they are now looking for recruit an assistant product manager to work from their Finchley office in London.

The role is mostly office based, with the requirement to travel once a week to new and existing clients and suppliers. The main scope of the position is assist with the management of clients accounts, and ensure that the company stays competitive within the chemicals (organics) market. This will require using a number of marketing, business development and sales techniques. Fundamentally the successful candidate will be assisting with the management of the supply chain, by managing stock levels, meeting with clients and suppliers, progressing purchase orders and chasing up payment.

The successful candidates will ideally com from a chemistry or scientific background, although not necessary, with experience of working in a commercial capacity. Experience of working in a customer focused position is essential, as well as regular customer and/or supplier contact. Previous sales, or business development experience would be a distinct advantage, as would a good knowledge of chemicals supply chain.

Salary (GBP) : 22,000 - 24,500pa.
