Job Description:

Assay Development Scientist - PCR - Watford - 25-35K

Based in Watford, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assay Development Scientist to work with a global leader in the provision of threat detection and screening technologies for Military, Transportation, Homeland Security and Resilience applications.

If you are a biological graduate with significant experience in PCR assay development then this is the role for you. The successful candidate will be involved in the development of PCR-based assays from laboratory concept, through verification, validation and to deployment on a portable instrument.

Requirements:

+ Strong background in molecular biology techniques. In particular experience of nucleic acid preparation and PCR (ideally multiplex) methods
+ Experience in handling biohazard materials, ideally trained for working with category 3 organisms
+ To have demonstrated success in assay development, ideally in a commercial setting
+ Knowledge / experience of working to GLP / GMP will be advantageous
